An original experiential installation at the Church of St. Nicholas in Jiráskovy sady, Hradec Králové
 
This original experiential installation, created specifically for this piece of cultural heritage with a unique history, allows visitors to experience its story through the means of contemporary art. It is inspired by the journey of this church, which originally came from Eastern Slovakia and has been relocated multiple times.
 
The installation offers a playful voyage to the roots and spirit of this unique structure. Although small in size, its presence in the park uplifts the spirit and reveals beauty in everyday moments. It offers us an opportunity to pause, quiet the mind, and open our senses – moments that can refresh and energise us.
 
Through interactive elements, sensory engagement, and the principle of play, visitors will experience both the history and the present moment of this unique space. Just as the church journeyed through the landscape, the installation invites us to embark on an imaginative and sensory journey along its path. It also reveals secrets you won’t find in a standard guidebook.
 
The audiovisual installation allows visitors to immerse themselves in the past as well as in their own experience through spoken word, music, and art objects. Headphones will guide you through the first part of the tour, which takes place outdoors. The second part leads you inside. The tour is narrated by Ian Mikyska, one of the artists who created the installation – his family roots lie in Ubľa and Brusnica, two villages in the Zemplín region of Eastern Slovakia, not far from the original site of the church.
 
 
The installation opened on April 15, 2026.
